Introduction to Defensive Pistol Shooting – Level I
This is not a basic class and is designed to take the novice to good shooters to their next level.
Drawing the Handgun
Moving and Shooting
Time: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Range Time: 7 Hours
Required Round Count: 200 Rounds
Students MUST have a quality outside the waist holster for your firearm as well as a double magazine holster for your weak side.
Class starts at 9 am and we will meet at the range.
You will need to bring a sack lunch (I will have a large cooler full of water)
What to bring to the range: Your side arm 3 magazines a holster and mag holsters, lunch, snacks, non-water drinks, eye and ear protection, sunscreen, 250 rounds of range ammo and clothes you are willing to get dirty and wear a good belt. Any other items that you would normally bring in your range bag.
A note on your holster and mag holsters. You really want a quality Kydex (plastic) or leather holster. The nylon style holsters will work but understand they are harder to draw from.
This is a level 1 pistol course, not a basic or bullseye course. We will be doing things that you might not expect at what might be a ‘normal’ day at the range for you. Everything will be discussed and we will make sure that we all stay safe on the range.
